Timing is everything when deciding the right time for planting vegetables. Some vegetables thrive in the heat of summer while others grow best in the cool temperatures of spring and autumn. By knowing your cool weather vegetables, you can get a head start on your vegetable garden a few weeks before the last average spring frost date and/or extend your vegetable gardening well into the fall season by planting another round of winter vegetables during the final weeks or summer or very beginning of fall.
There is nothing more rewarding than growing vegetables well into the autumn season and producing fresh vegetables for your family more of the year.
